Términos de uso.

Versión 1.0 · vigente desde el 31 de octubre de 2026

No puedes:

Ableton Live permite deshacerlos, aunque a veces paso a paso.

This is a translation for convenience. If it differs from the Spanish version, the Spanish version prevails.

1. Acceptance

These terms are the agreement between you and Enzo Paolo Chavez Tinoco, an individual registered under Peruvian tax ID (RUC) 10720776052, owner of Decibel AI (“Decibel”, “we”). They apply to the desktop app, the cloud service that powers it, and the decibelai.app website. By creating an account or using the app you accept them, together with the Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use Decibel.

2. What Decibel is

Decibel is an assistant for Ableton Live. It talks with you about music and production, analyses your masters and projects on your computer, performs actions in your Live session when you ask, and generates patterns with your own samples and plugins. Answers are produced by an artificial intelligence model in the cloud, so you need an internet connection and an account.

3. The beta

Decibel is in beta. That means:

  • It’s free for the duration of the beta. We won’t charge you anything without telling you first and without you accepting a paid plan.
  • It has limited seats and usage limits, which may change to keep the service sustainable.
  • It may have bugs, change features, be interrupted or end. We’ll give you reasonable notice before closing the beta.
  • Your feedback helps. If you send us suggestions, we may use them to improve Decibel without owing you anything for them.

4. Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old.
  • The information you give us must be true. Your account is personal: don’t share or sell it.
  • You’re responsible for what is done with it. Keep your password safe and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • You can delete your account at any time from the app or by writing to us.

5. License

We give you permission to install and use Decibel on your computers for your own music production, personal or professional. The permission is personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable, and lasts as long as you comply with these terms. Decibel is licensed, not sold. You may not:

  • Copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except as expressly permitted by law or by the open-source licenses of its components.
  • Sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app or access to your account.
  • Extract or try to use separately Decibel’s credentials, internal instructions or cloud service.

6. Acceptable use

Don’t use Decibel to:

  • Get around usage limits, create several accounts to multiply them, or automate requests.
  • Attack, overload or try to gain unauthorised access to the service or other accounts.
  • Try to make the AI produce illegal content, harass anyone or infringe third-party rights.
  • Do anything illegal.

If we detect such use, we may limit or suspend your account (section 12).

7. Your music and what you create

  • Your music is yours. Your tracks, projects and samples remain yours. Decibel takes no rights over them.
  • What you create with Decibel is yours too. You may freely use the MIDI patterns, settings and ideas that come out of the app, including in commercial releases. The AI may give similar suggestions to other users, so we don’t guarantee they are exclusive.
  • You give us a limited permission. For the service to work, you authorise us to process and forward what you write and your session data, only as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • You’re responsible for what you use. Make sure you have the right to use the samples, plugins and recordings in your projects, and don’t enter other people’s data without their permission.

8. AI answers

Decibel measures what it can measure, but answers are generated by an artificial intelligence model and may be wrong or incomplete. They are guidance, not technical truth. Decisions about your music are always yours: listen before accepting a change.

9. Actions in Ableton Live

If you turn on remote control, Decibel can create tracks, load instruments and effects, write notes and change parameters in your session. It only acts when you ask, but it may pick the wrong track or value.

  • Save your project first before asking for important changes. Ableton Live lets you undo them, sometimes one step at a time.
  • We’re not liable for the loss of work you didn’t save, or for changes you didn’t review before exporting.

10. Intellectual property and trademarks

The app, its design, texts, internal instructions and the Decibel brand belong to its owner. These terms give you no rights over them beyond the license in section 5.

Decibel is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Ableton AG. Ableton and Live are trademarks of Ableton AG. macOS is a trademark of Apple Inc. and Windows is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation. Plugin and manufacturer names shown in the app belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.

11. Third-party software

Decibel includes open-source components, such as FFmpeg and AbletonOSC, each under its own license. For each component, those licenses take precedence over these terms and may give you additional rights. They are in the notices file installed with the app and at decibelai.app/licencias. Where a license requires it, such as FFmpeg’s LGPL, you’ll also find there how to obtain its source code.

12. Suspension and account closure

We may limit or suspend your account if you breach these terms, put the service or other users at risk, or if the law requires us to. Except in urgent cases, we’ll warn you first and tell you why. If you think it’s a mistake, write to us and we’ll review it. You can stop using Decibel and delete your account at any time.

13. Warranties and liability

During the beta, Decibel is provided as is and as available. We don’t guarantee that it will work without interruptions or errors, or that its answers will be accurate.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, such as loss of unsaved work, income or opportunities. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or S/ 100 (Peruvian soles) if you paid nothing.

Nothing here limits the rights granted to you by consumer protection laws, including Peru’s Consumer Protection and Defence Code (Law No. 29571), or our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

14. Paid plans

The beta is free. When paid plans exist, their prices and conditions will be published separately and you’ll only be charged if you choose one. At that point we’ll provide a virtual Complaints Book (Libro de Reclamaciones).

15. Changes to these terms

If we change anything important, we’ll tell you in the app and by email at least 15 days in advance. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Decibel and delete your account. Continuing to use it after that date means you accept the new version.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Peru. Before any formal claim, write to [email protected]: almost everything gets solved that way. Otherwise, the courts of Lima will have jurisdiction, unless consumer law gives you the right to claim before the courts of your domicile or before Indecopi.
